Maine Minimum Wage and Exempt Salary Threshold Changes Effective January 1, 2018


Maine’s minimum wage for exempt employees is $10.00 an hour as of January 1, 2018.

The annual income for an exempt employee must exceed $30,000. These employees are exempt from being paid overtime for hours worked over 40 each week.

Income for an exempt employee must exceed these amounts for different pay periods: Weekly earnings must exceed $576.92 Bi-Weekly earnings must exceed $1,153.84 Semi-Weekly earnings must exceed $1,250 Monthly earnings must exceed $2,500 Annually earnings must exceed $30,000
